Bako Gudina Walkite Youth Development Project

The Gudina Walkite Youth Development Project is to support unemployed youths living in the Gibe Drainage where rainfall is erratic and malaria infestation is high. It is under implementation

with partnership of KNH /Facilitators for Change (German Based Organization). There are 48 beneficiary youths in the project and are organized into two self-help groups/cooperatives engaged in income generating activities. The two cooperatives are working on crop production, goods sale, food sale, fattening and grain trade. The activities are not only becoming profitable and leading the cooperatives into self-reliance but also becoming models for the neighboring districts. SVO works in collaboration with local government in the area of extending community empowerment on unemployment through income generating activities and farmers’ capacity building.
